Part D Prescription Plan

Prescription Drug Plans add prescription drug coverage to Original Medicare and Medicare supplement insurance plans. These plans are available through private insurance companies approved by Medicare. Each Prescription drug plan has its own drug formulary, or list of covered medications. These formularies include coverage of specific generic and brand-name prescription drugs. All plans must cover certain categories of medications, but the specific prescription drugs covered in each category may vary from insurance company and by plan.
