As a single Mother, Sherri began her career in the insurance industry in November 2003 as a Territory Manager with Combined Insurance Company. Her ability to recruit and train others, made her sales force one of the leading teams in the Life/Health Division and throughout the U.S. She was recognized as Branch Manager of the year in 2006 and mentored one of her team members to Salesman of the Year that same year.
In April of 2007, Sherri left Combined Insurance and started her sales career as a Sales Representative with Consolidated Benefits Agency. Sherri’s time at CBA gave her the knowledge needed to understand the everchanging dynamics of the health insurance industry.
In 2015, Sherri joined the Buffington Agency and decided to focus primarily on health insurance for individuals and families. Her “entrepreneur mindset” and her conviction to help others, led her to open her own agency in 2021.
Sherri is a proud Mother of 3 adult children and 2 wonderful grandchildren. She enjoys attending worship at Compass North Church in Akron. Sherri is a big sports fan, enjoys cooking, and loves spending time travelling.
Brittany Soohey,
Sales Executive
Brittany began her career in banking as a Customer Relationship Specialist II with First Merit Bank, now Huntington Bank, in September 2007. This was the starting point of her belief in the importance of customer service.
While attending the University of Akron and obtaining her degrees, she entered into the Medical field in May of 2011, where she spent 10 years working in various administration/customer service roles for several prominent physicians at a leading Orthopaedic Center in Northeast Ohio. Her time there has given her a lot of knowledge and experience dealing with insurance companies from pre-authorizations, billing, claims and most importantly, compassion to help others.
Brittany obtained her Health and Life Insurance license in 2020. Still seeking a role that gives a greater fulfillment by helping people, Brittany joined SLS Benefits team in 2021.
Brittany is a proud Aunt and enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews. She enjoys going to the BMX track to watch them race, as well running and traveling to new places.
